Apple Offer: Price Break for College Students

SAT reasoning Apple launched a new promotion on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 for students, teachers of any grade, and parents of college-bound students.   With the purchase of a new Mac computer, buyers will get an Apple Individual Educational Pricing discount, as well as receive up to a $199 rebate for a free iPod Touch.

The Mac computers that qualify for this promotion include any new, not refurbished iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Pro.  Even the build-to-order configurations of these models will qualify.

The advertising promotions offer the free iPod Touch, but the buyer can select any iPod up to a cost of $199.

According to the Apple site Terms and Conditions, those eligible for the promotional discount include faculty, staff, students, and parents as follows:

K-12: “Any employee of a public or private K-12 institution in the United States is eligible.  In addition, school board members who are currently serving as elected or appointed members are eligible, PTA, or PTO executives currently serving as elected or appointed officers are eligible.”

Higher Education:  “Faculty and staff of higher education institutions, and students attending, or accepted into a higher education institution are eligible.”

High Education Parents:  “Parents purchasing on behalf of their child, who is a student currently attending or accepted into a public or private higher education institution in the United States, are eligible.”

The offer runs from May 25, 2010 until September 7, 2010.
